Some key basic things to consider located on the CDC (include Link) website:

  • Prepare for a possible increase in the number of employee absences due to personal or family member illness
  • Explore establishing policies that increase the physical distance between employees such as flexible worksites and work hours
  • Cross-train (always a good idea) employees on essential functions in case of employee absences
  • Assess your essential function and reliance on others-be prepared to change business practices if needed, to maintain the most important functions of your daily business

Remember the basics:

  • Wash hands on a regular basis with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.  Tip:  20 seconds is equal to singing happy birthday two times.
  • Cover your cough and sneeze and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Use your own personal pen or pencil
  • Regular use of hand sanitizer
  • Stay home if you or a family member is sick
  • Sanitize commonly touched surfaces and objects regularly (phones, doorknobs, keyboards, printer, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.)
  • Check the CDC’s Traveler’s Health Notices before any international travel
