8th ANNUAL BLUE RIDGE BREAKAWAY
POSTPONED for 2017!
The Blue Ridge Breakaway is an annual, one-day cycling event supporting the initiatives of the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, which services the towns of Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Canton and Clyde.
Cyclists come from across the country to participate in this adrenaline-pumping ride through the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The event begins at beautiful Lake Junaluska surrounded by the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. Four routes specifically designed for all skill levels, offer cyclists an opportunity to experience the breathtaking beauty of Haywood County’s country lanes, scenic byways and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Although the Blue Ridge Breakaway is a ride, not a race, 2016 brought the addition of a timed section of the event awarding fastest male and female the prestigious title of King and Queen of the Mountain. Winners are awarded the traditional…can’t miss them…red and white polka-dot jerseys!
