Work

The Chamber is home to the Haywood Economic Development Council (EDC). Since its inception in 1982, the EDC has been committed to being the primary advocate of attracting, retaining, and building business in the county; dedicated to serving businesses of all sizes to build economic growth. The EDC is the connection between business and government, business and business, and business and the workforce.

The mission of the EDC is to foster a healthy and prosperous economy and quality of life for our community through the development of capital investment, job creation and entrepreneurial opportunities while supporting existing business and industry.

The EDC is an arm of the Haywood Chamber of Commerce. Together, these two leading organizations are dedicated to business growth and prosperity. Working as one, powerfully bonded and strategically aligned, the EDC and Chamber collaborate with partners throughout the county and Western North Carolina.
