Looking to start your own business? Enter the Business Plan Contest and win up to $10,000. This contest is a partnership between The Haywood County Economic Development Council, The Haywood Chamber of Commerce, Haywood Community College Small Business Center and the Haywood Advancement Foundation. The deadline for submissions is May 12, 2017 at 5pm.
The main objective of the Business Plan Competition is to encourage and foster the start-up and expansion of small businesses in Haywood County. As community leaders our role is to promote the spirit of “entrepreneurship” among aspiring business owners and enhance the economic base of our community as well as creation of new jobs.
Feasibility of the business idea as demonstrated by the Market Research component and determined by the judges, financial soundness of projected business transactions identified in the Pro Forma/Cash Flow Projection component as determined by judges, efficient use of initial funding as specified in the Capital Start-Up Needs component, experience level and/or projected ability of the management team to conduct successful business operations as determined by judges, creativity of uniqueness of the business idea described in the Executive Summary and/or Product of Service Description components as determined by judges and neatness of submission are just some of the criteria on which the submissions will be evaluated.
